I help the Chief Financial Officer and executive agency leadership understand and communicate about Florida’s economy and the performance of the agency. I serve as the agency’s chief economist and track and analyze data on the national and Florida economies. I work with the Office of Communications to write speeches for the CFO to communicate about economic issues. I create data visualizations to help executive leadership track economic trends and to help the Legislative Affairs team educate legislators on issues. I oversee the publishing of a magazine about Florida’s economy. I analyze and visualize data to help executive leadership understand the performance of the agency’s divisions.

I served as the main analyst on a variety of tax issues including economic development incentives; transient rental taxes; documentary stamp taxes; gaming, tobacco, and alcohol taxes; and others. I drafted a variety of Proposed Committee Bills and amendments. I wrote bill analyses. I worked with members to ensure that their legislation accomplished what they wanted. I performed analyses for the Revenue Estimating Conference. I made presentations before the committee.

I assisted the Commissioner in designing and implementing an agency reorganization in the wake of the collapse of the real estate market. I helped develop the agency’s communications strategy.
